Oeuvre gigantesque réalisée par le sculpteur Roger Langevin en 1995 à l’occasion du tricentenaire de Rimouski (1996). L’œuvre se veut un rappel du terrible incendie qui ravagea le tiers de la ville en 1950 et du courage des citoyens, hommes et femmes, qui ont dû rebâtir leur habitation. La sculpture représente trois personnages d’une hauteur de quatre mètres soulevant une structure triangulaire: les deux hommes en compression par leur force musculaire, la femme en extension au moyen d’un câble fiché au sommet de la structure triangulaire.

Gigantic work by sculptor Roger Langevin in 1995 on the occasion of the tercentenary of Rimouski (1996). The work is a reminder of the terrible fire that ravaged the third of the city in 1950 and the courage of citizens, men and women, who had to rebuild their homes. The sculpture depicts three figures from a height of four meters lifting a triangular structure: the two men in compression by their muscular force, the woman in extension by means of a cable stuck at the top of the triangular structure.
