In the original downtown of Viola, murals are painted in the boarded up windows of vacant buildings....I will submit the north side as one mural, and the same with the south side of the street.

County of murals: Mercer County
Location fo murals: South side of 17th Ave., on boarded up windows of buildings
Artist: Unknown: Date erected: 2008 with the celebration of 150 years

I assume there was a parade and this was a way to "pretty" up the old vacant buildings in the heart of town. The new businesses are all spread along US-67 and the side streets are basically ignored.

I also assume the images are part of the towns history, each meaning something of importance from the past...which is which I could not find in print anywhere.

We have the silhouette of a family out for a walk (1900's style); Pioneer smoking a pipe; same woman with fresh cake & pie walking both ways.
