The Morey House at the corner of 3rd and N Main St. was built about 1895. It is one of the largest and best preserved of the popular Queen Anne houses in Belton. Prominently sited near downtown Belton, the Morey House was originally one of a row of large Victorian-era residences which lined north Main Street. With its exuberant gallery and fine Eastlake-inspired detailing, the house ranks among the finest Queen Anne structures in Belton and survives as testimony to the prosperity of the town during the peak years of the cotton boom.
