Histoire
L’église Sainte-Victoire est construite en 1648 et remplace Notre-Dame de Baulis, l'abbatiale, comme église paroissiale. Selon certaines sources, son vocable viendrait d'une ancienne déesse de la Victoire, adorée localement dans l'Antiquité, et christianisée. Mais selon la Revue historique, cette déesse Victoire de Volx serait plutôt la déesse celtique Andarta, et le nom local Sainte-Victoire serait plutôt une corruption de Santo-Ventùri.

Architecture
L'église est de style roman.
Sa nef qui comprend trois travées voûtées en berceau brisé conduit au chœur voûté sous croisée d’ogives. Elle compte un seul bas-côté, du côté nord, voûté d’arêtes. Elle est accompagnée d'un campanile.

Fête annuelle Sainte-Victoire
La fête patronale de l'église a un net retentissement. Sainte Victoire est la sainte patronne de l'église, « de temps immémorial », peut-être par substitution de la vénération de Victoire de Cordoue à la déesse locale de la victoire, ou par corruption du nom de santo Ventùri. Sa fête patronale annuelle inclut la représentation d'une partie de son histoire, réelle ou légendaire.
EN The church Sainte-Victoire, is a Romanesque church located in the town of Volx in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence in France.

History
The Sainte-Victoire church was built in 1648 and replaced Notre-Dame de Baulis, the abbey church, as a parish church. According to some sources, its name comes from an ancient goddess of Victory, worshiped locally in antiquity, and Christianized. But according to the Historical Review, this goddess Victory of Volx would rather be the Celtic goddess Andarta, and the local name Sainte-Victoire would rather be a corruption of Santo-Venturi.

Architecture
The church is Romanesque.
Her nave, which includes three vaulted bays in a broken cradle, leads to the vaulted choir under crossbeams. It has a single aisle, on the north side, vaulted with ridges. It is accompanied by a campanile.
Annual Sainte-Victoire Festival
The patronal feast of the church has a clear impact. St. Victory is the patron saint of the church, "from time immemorial", perhaps by substituting the veneration of Victory of Cordova with the local goddess of victory, or by corruption of the name of Santo Venturi. Its annual patron's day includes the representation of a part of its history, real or legendary.
