This painted Coke ad is worn to the point of no recognition for parts of it.
This was a store WAY back, apparently. My dad said even when he was a kid, people lived here. He said he thinks the window in the middle of the ad was put in sometime in the 60's. At that time, this area was still well known as Kerrtown.
Now, "Dads Dog Food" has gobbled up many of the houses, streets, the old bakery store, and the baseball field. The road in front has become ridiculously busy, and the old barbershop has grown and morphed to a giant clothing and boots store. Kerrtown school is now offices, and the playground sees fewer children every year.
Us older ones still know the Kerrtown name, and it shows up on maps, but the former neighborhood atmoosphere is mostly a memory, fading away like this sign.
