This memorial is in a large park, Neahwa Park, in Oneonta. The bench at one end is dedicated to Ethel Scatchard Red Cross canteen worker died Paris France February 11, 1919. There is a walkway to another circle which contains several war monuments. Some are for specific wars (Korea, Vietnam, Beirut), groups of wars (Spanish American, WWI, WWII), (WWI and WWII) and a general monument to "sons and daughters of this community who in all wars gave their futures to preserve our heritage."

Center pillar: Dedicated to the sons and daughters of this community who in all wars gave their futures to preserve our heritage. Spanish American: In fond memory of our honored dead. WWI and II: In memoriam in World War I and II our brothers who laid down their lives that free nations might survive and democracy triumph. Here inscribed are the names of the brotherhood of Railway Trainmen who joined their fellow citizens in making the supreme sacrifice. To their memory we pledge the strength of this brotherhood and our individual sacred promises to make the United States, Canada and Newfoundland nations of free people in a world of free men and women. Korea: Lest we forget. Dedicated to all the men and women who also served. Vietnam: Remember those who served and those who died. Vietnam (2nd monument): Remembering Oneonta's fallen in Vietnam and all who served and sacrificed for us. Beirut: Dedicated to all servicemen from New York State who gave their lives in Beirut Lebanon on Oct 23, 1983.

Description of Memorial:
There is a brick walkway. At one end is a bench. At the other end is a circle with multiple monuments to several wars. In the center of the circle is a pillar with a general dedication to those who served. There are flags of the different armed services. There is a low wall around the circle with medallions of the different services.
