His death was reported in the Western Australian (Perth) published 20 May 1924 & reproduced in Trove Digitised Newspapers, the National Library of Australia as:

OLD WALL COLLAPSES.
Two Men Killed.
Sydney. May 19.

Two workmen. James Robertson (76) and Gus. Sheil (35) died to-day, as the result of injuries received at the Bowral brick works. The men were engaged in demolishing an old kiln when portion of the wall collapsed. Robertson sustained injuries to the head and back, and was also hurt internally. Sheil had one foot almost severed, and he also received severe internal injuries. Both men were admitted to the Berrima District Hospital and died shortly afterwards.

He is buried in a family grave & the headstone is worded:
