His drowning was reported in the Southern Mail newspaper on 25 May 1945 & reproduced in Trove Digitised Newspapers, the National Library of Australia as:

Robert George Walker, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Walker, was found drowned in a dam at Joadja on Thursday of last week.

His marble tablet is stained with age & reads:

In loving memory of our darling son
Robert George Walker
Accidentally drowned 17th May 1945
Aged 2 years & 9 months
