[FR] Église Sainte-Radegonde à Couziers dans le département de l'Indre-et-Loire. Cette église du XVème siècle fut construite sur les vestiges d'une plus ancienne dont subsiste une petite fenêtre en plein cintre, dans le mur Nord du choeur. Le type de clocher mur qui surmonte l'édifice est très rare en Touraine.
Le choeur abrite un magnifique retable en pierre du XVIIème siècle, avec profusion de sculptures décorative et orné de deux statues polychromes. L'une représente Sainte-Radegonde, patronne de l'église, et l'autre Saint Vincent, patron des vignerons.
Un magnifique triptyque du XVIème siècle y est aussi conservé. Cette peinture sur bois, à double face, représente le baptême du Christ et fut retrouvée au dessus de l'autel, obstruant une petite fenêtre.
De beaux graffitis de gabares et l'inscription "IHS", "Jésus Sauveur des Hommes", ornent le mur Sud de l'église.
[EN] Church Sainte-Radegonde in Couziers in the department of Indre-et-Loire. This 15th century church was built on the remains of an older one of which there is a small semicircular window in the north wall of the choir. The type of steeple wall that surmounts the building is very rare in Touraine.
The choir houses a magnificent 17th century stone altarpiece, with a profusion of decorative sculptures and adorned with two polychrome statues. One represents Sainte-Radegonde, patron saint of the church, and the other Saint Vincent, patron saint of the vine growers.
A magnificent 16th century triptych is also preserved. This double-sided wood painting represents the baptism of Christ and was found above the altar, obstructing a small window.
Beautiful baroque graffiti and the inscription "IHS", "Jesus Savior of Men" adorn the south wall of the church.
