Step on the way to Compostela, Saint-Léger had in 1089 a church dedicated to the abbey of Saint-Jean-d'Angély. The current building, of Romanesque origin, is then mentioned in the 14th century. Destroyed for the most part in 1574 by the Protestants, the church is restored by François le Duc, known as Tuscany. New work is attested in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building consists of a single nave with an elongated plan, with a narrower circular apse choir. The nave is covered with a decking ceiling and the choir, past the triumphal arch, is vaulted in cradle with an oven for the apse. The wall-gable of the facade is summoned by a campanile. The portal is flamboyant Gothic. Some carved keystones are preserved in the masonry and the chevet has kept a cornice with modillions as well as a cordon summing the berries with fine carvings.
