Thurstaston Beach is the first beach along the Wirral's western coast, on the Dee estuary. It has a wide sandy margin at the top backed by subsiding clay cliffs, but a short distance out the shore becomes a mix of sand and mud.

Thurstaston beach can be accessed from Station Road in Thurstaston. The lane leads from Thurstaston village to a (free) car parking area next to the Wirral Way cycle path and close to Thurstaston Visitor Centre.

Access to the beach is a short walk from the end of Station Road along a footpath on the right that leads to the wooden steps down the cliff to the beach.

Dogs are allowed at all times and there are notices advising against swimming at this beach.

The area above the beach is mostly parkland (The Wirral Country Park) facilities include a snack bar, picnic tables, toilets and a visitor centre.
