I wish I could say this is great, but I'm always more partial to the old brick bank buildings. This is a two story building on the northeast corner of Jackson and Broadway in downtown Hugo. The only thing recognizable from years ago is the stone date panel on the upper wall of the canted corner, which reads "1903".

This building was constructed before Oklahoma became a state in 1907. The original entrance would have been on the canted corner, however, this has been re-designed so the entrance today is at the Jackson Street side of the corner. It is a metal and glass entry. The first floor windows are fixed panes with double pane transoms. The entrance and all ground floor windows have metal awnings.

The windows on the upper floor are one-over-one with stone sills and lintels. The Broadway elevation has four bays, each with three windows. The Jackson Street elevation has three bays, with two windows near the corner, and four windows in the other two bays. A cornice runs around the building above the upper windows. The upper building is covered with stucco, with horizontal concrete panels on the ground floor.

The building houses BancFirst of Hugo.
Year of construction: 1903
