MX0265 - USGS 'BB 11' BM - Etna, CA - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I recovered this U.S. Geological Survey benchmark from 1907 in good condition. It is an aluminum disk monumented in front of a two-story brick building. The NGS coordinates are slightly off. My posted coordinates will place you very close to this mark.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1952 AT ETNA. AT ETNA, AT THE BLAKE HOTEL, AT THE INTERSECTION OF MAIN AND SCHOOL STREETS, SET VERTICALLY IN THE SOUTHEAST FACE OF THE BRICK WALL OF THE HOTEL, 1.9 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE BUILDING, 4.0 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER OF THE ENTRANCE TO A DRESS SHOP, AND 1.5 FEET HIGHER THAN THE SURFACE OF THE SIDEWALK.
