In 2017, P.A.F.D. No. 1 is part of the collection of the Bytown Fire Brigade, a non-profit historical society that maintains and operates similar vehicles. Their fire engines participate in events such as the Santa Claus parade in the waymark photographs. This 1948 American LaFrance (ALF) pumper was purchased by the Bytown Fire Brigade in 2000. In a previous life, the ALF pumper worked for the Port Arthur Fire Department. Port Arthur is now part of the city of Thunder Bay, Ontario.
