Magistrates' Court at Castle Wharf, Nottingham, opened in 1996.

"Light industry and manufacturing disappeared in the area during the 1970’s and 1980’s. Whilst many buildings found new uses as offices, show rooms and public houses, the decline of the canal and the railway goods yard resulted in a noticeably depressed area. Concerted efforts have been made by the City Council since the 1990’s to regenerate the area. The Magistrates Court (outside the Conservation Area) was opened in 1996."

Designed by the Nottingham County Council Architect's Department with William Saunders Partnership and Cullen, Carter and Hill. It sits on the site of Nottingham Carrington Street railway station. The gateposts still frame the pathway from Carrington Street to the court.
