The Lookout is maintained by the 'Shire of Yarra Ranges'. The full name, from a sign at the entry to the car park, shows it as: "John's Hill Trig Point Reserve". Which is 'reinforced' by the metal pipe 'quadrapod' trig that you would have driven past to get to the car park.
