YES - Entry is FREE, but, if you want to have an educational guided tour, on one of the 'trains', then there is a charge. Group tours are available at 11am, or 2pm, for $13.50 - Adult, or $11.30 for Concession: meet at the Visitor Centre (above coordinates).
"In 1970 the site was named as a division of the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, with a focus on Australian plant research and conservation. The gardens were not opened to the public until 1989. Over 400 plant species are protected in the bushland of the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne.
The types of plants found here haven't really changed for thousands of years.
Many of these plants were used by the traditional owners of the land for food, medicine, tools and as a signal of the changing seasons.
