The Prosen Water splits from the River South Esk near the Braes of Angus, foothills of the Grampian Mountains, in eastern Scotland. Around a mile upstream, the B955 road bends its way through woodland and crosses the river on its way northwards into Glen Clova. A minor road branches off beyond Cortachy and follows the river into Glen Prosen.

Named Prosen Bridge, it was built in the 18th century and widened around 1830. It is a large segmental arch with natural rock abutments.

It can be found three miles to the north of the town of Kirriemuir and just before the hamlet of Cortachy and its castle. It is possible with care to climb down the embankments on both sides to view the arch at close quarters.
