This is an antebellum cemetery. At the time of this waymark listing, the latest burial was about 15 months before (in 2016).
As to the oldest grave, that is a little bit of a mystery. There is one grave record that states that Margaret Turnbaugh Wooley was born in 1787 and died in 1812 and was buried here. If so, that would be very unusual for southwest Missouri, where most earliest burials are from the 1840s (maybe 1830s) on. Though the body might have been re-interred here.
The mystery deepens when you read her husband, Levi Wooley's, FindAGrave entry. It states that she died "Abt. 1867". That MIGHT make more sense, except that it also states that Levi married BOTH Margaret and his second wife Sophia in 1814! Thus, the veracity of his FindAGrave record is definitely in question. (Even if Margaret and he had divorced, and she died in 1867, then how would he marry both women in 1814? And he is buried with Margaret.)
More than likely, Margaret did die in 1812 (at about 25 years old), and Levi remarried 2 years later. If that is the case (and it is much more likely), then her burial is one of the earliest in all of southwest Missouri.
