Most two-wheel drive cars will be able to get you to the designated starting point of the hunt for the
Goonook Gambol geocache - GC1J5W9.
** I did 'pick up a tick' on the walk, so be prepared with insect repellent. **
Access: Come in from the south side, along the dirt Taylors Road, and park at S31° 43.488' E152° 25.232'; just a small amount of room to pull up off the track - definitely NOT recommended if you have a trailer.
* Walk on UP the hard dirt track, until you reach the cliff face, then skirt left/west, and up to a spur, then down and around to the right, to head north up alongside the ridge that the Trig Point is on. Then head back once you have reached the true saddle.
Alternate: There is an 'easier' route in from Comboyne Road, through the Anderson Conservation Reserve, but that requires getting permission. It is long, but flatter, and not so many hazards. [Maybe a Terrain 3 route] Once you have phoned for permission, park at the sharp bend on Comboyne Road at: S31° 41.725' E152° 24.995'. You will need to know how to navigate, as the track is NOT marked!
