"This Premonstratensian monastery was founded in 1140. The complex includes the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (1743–1752), the Strahov Library with a number of rare medieval manuscripts, maps and globes, the Baroque Theological Hall (1671–1679), the Classical Philosophy Hall (1785–1794) decorated with frescoes, and the Strahov Gallery, one of the most significant Central European collections of Gothic painting, Rudolfian art, and Baroque and Rococo paintings."
