[DE] Beim Landesamt für Vermessung und Geobasisinformation in der Von-Kuhl-Straße 49 in Koblenz befindet sich diese Kompass-Rose als GPS Referenzpunkt .
Die Kompass-Rose wurde als Mosaik gelegt und besteht aus verschieden farbigen kleinen Pflastersteinen. Die verschiedenen Himmelsrichtungen wurden durch schwarze und graufarbige Pflastersteine dargestellt. Die Zwischenräume zur schwarzen, kreisförmigen Umrandung wurde durch Pflastersteine in verschiedenen braun und rot Tönen hergestellt.
Aufgaben des Landesamt für Vermessung und Geobasisinformation:
"Aufgaben des amtlichen Vermessungswesens sind die Vorhaltung eines räumlichen Bezugssystems, der Nachweis der Liegenschaften und der Landschaft. Dazu sind die Daten des vermessungstechnischen Raumbezugs, des Liegenschaftskatasters und der geotopografischen Informationen zu erheben, in einem Informationssystem zu führen und als Geobasisinformationen für öffentliche und private Aufgaben bereitzustellen.
Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt liegt auf dem Bodenmanagement mit den Bausteinen Wertermittlung und Bodenordnung sowie der Aufbau einer Geodateninfrastruktur.
In Rheinland-Pfalz nehmen diese Aufgaben das Landesamt für Vermessung und Geobasisinformation (LVermGeo) und sechs Vermessungs- und Katasterämtern (VermKÄ) wahr. Zusammen bilden sie die Vermessungs- und Katasterverwaltung.
Die Landesvermessung ist Kernaufgabe des LVermGeo. Als obere Vermessungs- und Katasterbehörde besitzt das LVermGeo jedoch auch eine wichtige Bündelungsfunktion für die VermKV insgesamt - dies insbesondere bei der zentralen Entwicklung von Fachverfahren, der landesweiten Bereitstellung von Geodaten sowie der nationalen und internationalen Zusammenarbeit."
