The Monument to Dicks et Lentz is located at Square Jan Palach, which is a part of Place d'Armes, one of the main plazas in the pedestrian zone of Luxembourg's city center. It was built in 1903 by architect Georges Traus and artist Pierre Federspiel to honor the two poets Edmond de la Fontaine ("Dicks") and Michel Lentz, wo wrote the lyrics for the Luxembourgian national anthem.
It consists of a column surrounded by several figurative statues. The heads of Dicks and Lentz are shown as a relief at the base of the column. The Luxembourgian motto "Mir wëlle bleiwe wat mir sin" is engraved across the length of the column.
Ontop of the column is a lion statue. The lion is the heraldic animal of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and therefore can be found in many artworks and monuments honoring the Luxembourgian history. This lion is sitting on it's hind legs and leaning on a shield showing the coat of arms.
