The former South Fremantle Post Office was designed by George Temple Poole and constructed of rendered limestone in the Federation Arts and Crafts style that features timber framing to the first floor and a prominent steeply pitched gabled roof that was originally shingled ,but is now terracota tiled. The Post Office had quarters for the post master and his family. The Post Office was built in 1896 and continued being used for that purpose until sold in 1985
