National Nature Reserve Dreveník, situated on the borders of the districts of Spišská Nová Ves and Levoca in NE Slovakia, is a table-mountain shaped travertine mound protected from 1925.
Drevenik was declared one of the oldest protected areas in Slovakia in 1925. Drevenik is most extensive travertine territory with karstic morphology in Slovakia. Drevenik was created by connection of travertine mounds settled from mineral springs. Its contemporary form resembles table mountain inclined slightly north-east. Rock towns emerged on the rift broken extremity - graceful Kamenný Raj (The Rock Paradise) in the eastern part and a bizarre naturalistically most valuable grorge Peklo (The Hell) in the western part of the area. South-west part is full of caves with archaeological discoveries of primeval man. Twenty-four caves have been described so far.
A log will require a recent photograph at the coordinates. Some of these locations will be placed for the scenery, so a gpsr will just ruin the picture.
If you don't have a digital camera post a descriptive log.
