BL 3780 + 2090 Short Mountain Survey Mark - Cowlington, OK - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Survey Mark is set in native bedrock on the western edge of Short Mountain, north of Cowlington, OK, overlooking the east end of the Robert S. Kerr reservoir. The bronze disk is weathered but readable and is marked (as best as I can tell) BL 3780 2090 and dated 1969. Note that this is not FH1034 SHORT NO 1 1940. This benchmark does not appear in the National Geodetic Survey database.

There is public parking east of the mountain at N 35 20.230 W 094 46.430 (high clearance vehicle recommended for the last half-mile to the parking area) and the mark is about a one-mile hike from the nearby trailhead. The view of the lake and surrounding countryside is well worth the walk!
