This Labrador was acquired in 1963. Originally called a Voyageur, it was used by the Canadian Army. It was transferred to the Air Force following unification in 1968. One of 18 in the CF fleet, it spent the majority of its career in the Search and Rescue role.
After acquisition from the army, it was assigned to 450 Squadron in Ottawa in the utility transport role. Following conversion to SAR configuration, it saw service with 424 Squadron in Trenton, moving to CFB Summerside, PEI in 1976. Following, it was transferred to 413 Sqn Summerside, and 103 Rescue Unit, Gander NL before finally returning to 424 Sqn in Trenton in 1995.
11315 holds the distinction of completing both the last operational rescue mission and the last operational flight for the type under Canadian Forces auspices. The aircraft was retired and donated to the museum in 2004.
