The Perthshire village of Methven (pronounced 'meffan'), is situated five miles west of the city of Perth on the A85 road that heads westwards into the Highlands.

The bowling club is the first building visitors see coming from Perth as it is situated on the right hand side of the road entering the village. The recreation ground lies opposite on the left side of the road.

The club was founded in 1867 and the green lies on the east side of the clubhouse.
