This aircraft was one of 50 acquired by the Canadian Armed Forces in the early 1970's.
Built by Bell Helicopters, it carried the paper registration 70-15161, but never had those markings. It was delivered to 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron at CFB Namao (Edmonton) AB in 1971. It spent its entire service career with this unit, including a UN tour with ONUCA Air Wing in Honduras in 1989.
The aircraft was retired in the 1990's and donated to the National Air Force Museum in the mid 2000's.
It still bears United Nations markings and the signature blue and white paint scheme, although quite faded now.
