The California Trail Interpretive Center is located at Exit 292 on I-80, 8 miles west of Elko, Nevada. Between 1841 and 1869, up to 250,000 people set out for California on the California Trail. The California Trail Interpretive Center tells the stories of these pioneers who endured the 2,000 mile trek. In addition to the many displays in the Center there is a large plaza outside with many additional interpretive signs and nearly a mile of trails with three overlooks.

Visitors should visit the Nature Center and post a photo of themselves (or GPS unit) either inside or outside of the nature center visited. Logs without photos WILL be allowed if a lenghty description of one's visit and a mention of what they learned is included.
