The theatre was built around 1920 for Mr. A.D. Baker to be used as a motion picture theatre. It closed in 1984 and reopened in 1998 as a venue for live theatrical productions.

This building is constructed of brick and stone. There are brick pilasters on the front facade. The lower portion of the building has been paneled with ceramic tile. The box office was originally in the center of the main entrance, but it has been moved to the right of the building. The interior lobby has also been enlarged and remodeled.
