Ron Sibley (a Charter Member - 1959) was the Bright Rotary Club President that year - 1988. He also seems to have had a hand in the planting of pine trees in 1960 in a local park, that were harvested in 1987 to raise funds for the Soundshell. [Info from 50 years Anniversary: (

While it is used for several functions throughout the year, it is regularly used for the Rotary Christmas Carols in the Park.
The Plaque for the Community Commemoration is just above the power distribution box on the wall of the Soundshell, and on the painted mural side, above the caught fish. The bronzeplaque reads:
"DISTRICT 979
BICENTENARY YEAR
1988
[Rotary logo, and Bicentenary Year logo]
Presented To The
ROTARY CLUB OF BRIGHT
In Recognition Of Your Club's
BICENTENARY PROJECT"
The Bandshell is at the western end of Centenary Park. In 2016 there was a pleasant countryside scene painted as a mural on the audience facing wall of the Bandshell. On the southern side is the tag for the Artist: John Hearn -96/97.
