Some information about Alter Friedhof Remagen.

The Old Cemetery (Alter Friedhof) on the Alte Straße in Remagen was blessed on June 30, 1834. In 1995, the 7233 square meter parcel with direct access to the Rhine was closed for funerals. Since then, funerals have been held only at Remagen Cemetery. The last Liegerechte in the cemetery expired at the turn of 2007/08. From 1994, the local council Remagen sat down for the transformation into a park. A decision of the construction and traffic committee of the city Remagen fell in the year 1996. War graves as well as the grave of Otto Caracciola are to be maintained, was decided. From 2010, the beautification club Remagen e.V. redesigned the old cemetery to the city park Remagen.
