William Cotton's Woodmen of the World headstone is not the traditional tree stump variety. It is a large stone cube with a rounded top, and scrollwork engraved above the inscription. The headstone stands on two large stone logs and has the surname COTTON engraved on the side of one log. The seal is engraved just above the name. The inscription is engraved on the face of the cube and reads:

Born Nov. 12, 1868
Died Jan. 15, 1916
