In front of the McCurtain County Courthouse, this monument honors those from Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

This is a polished black granite monument, resting on a rusticated horizontal granite slab. The monument is approximately seven feet high, and has an engraving of the shape of McCurtain County at the center with silhouettes of four servicemen and the words "GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.". A yellow ribbon is engraved across the County shape.

The inscription reads:

In honor
of the brave
Men and Women of
Operation Desert
Shield / Storm
Aug. 7, 1990 - Feb. 27, 1991
Each of you have exemplified courage, endured
hardship, sacrificed unselfishly, and in turn re-
stored pride and patriotism to a grateful nation.
