This is a white granite memorial which stands approximately 12 feet high. Two tall pillars on each side are topped with a horizontal slab at the top, which is engraved with an eagle front and back. The pillars on the front are engraved with veterans from McCurtain County who served in World War II.
Between the two pillars is the dedication block, which is topped with a granite urn of flowers. The dedication reads:
In memory of those who
made the supreme sacrifice
this tribute is dedicated
to everlasting peace by the
Idabel "Moms of America"
Original memorial
erected 1950
destroyed by tornado and
replaced 1973
On the back, the pillars are engraved with names of veterans from the Korean War, Vietnam, and a few additional names from World War II.
