fontaine décorative avec un bassin à 8 côtés incurvés. Le fût à base carrée porte sur chaque face un masque représentant une saison : le printemps et ses fleurs, l'été et ses blés, l'automne et sa vigne, l'hiver et sa tristesse. L'urne est richement décorée de végétaux.

Histoire
Cette fontaine se trouvait en 1789 dans le couvent des Dominicains à Aix en Provence. La famille Templier de Cotignac l'acheta alors et la garda cachée dans leur propriété d'Aix. En 1810 ils construisent une maison à Cotignac qui empiète sur le domaine public. Pour éviter un procès avec la municipalité ils préfèrent offrir cette fontaine à la commune pour alimenter les nouvelles constructions du village qui peu à peu s'éloignent du rocher et de son château.
Elle a été restaurée en 1999 et classée aux Monuments de France en 1949.

Characteristics
Decorative fountain with a bowl with 8 curved sides. The square-based barrel carries on each face a mask representing a season: the spring and its flowers, the summer and its wheats, the autumn and its vine, the winter and its sadness. The urn is richly decorated with plants.

History
This fountain was in 1789 in the convent of the Dominicans in Aix en Provence. The Templar family of Cotignac bought it then and kept it hidden in their property of Aix. In 1810 they build a house in Cotignac which encroaches on the public domain. To avoid a process with the municipality they prefer to offer this fountain to the municipality to feed the new constructions of the village which little by little moves away from the rock and its castle.
It was restored in 1999 and classified in the Monuments of France in 1949.
