This grey granite Memorial is in the centre of McMillans Street, on the eastern side of Great Alpine Road, on the base of a Broken Column.

The upper and lower faces of the western side of the square base of this memorial are relating to World War One. The upper face is inscribed:

 1914-GREAT WAR-1918
     In Memory of
     Our Brave Men

H.A. Baylis	| V. Dawson
F. Fregon	| J. Heritage
F.H. Hollonds	| W. Pople
F. White	| H. Pople

     Who fell fighting for

The lower face of the base has the following:

  Erected by the residents
    of the Tambo Valley.
    This Broken Column,
 symbolic of lives cut short,
is Dedicated to the Memory of
     the Men and Women
 of this District who Served
Australia in War and Conflict.

The Victorian Heritage Database Swifts Creek War Memorial Pillar has very similar pictures of this memorial. But no further details on when it was built or dedicated.
