Inaugurated in 1922, the station is beloved by locals mostly for its rare tile panels, produced at an also historic 19th century factory in Sacavém.
After years of service, the station closed down in 2006 to make way for a new one only 200 metres away.
Since then, the building has fallen victim to abandon and vandalism despite being protected by the Portuguese government.
