There is only one runway suitable for jet aircraft & as of yesterday (31 October 2017) a new jet passenger service, Jetgo, commenced operations. It offers a return service to Melbourne & Brisbane with the possibility of expansion to other centres depending on demand.
The airport is also used by privately owned aircraft including a sky diving business & has many aviation related industries & an aviation museum.
The Terminal services Jetgo & other privately owned aircraft. The Boeing 747 in the background is a static display of the museum.
