Tumalo State Park is located 5 miles NW of Bend at 64120 O B Riley Road. The State Park has recently completed a section of the Deschutes River Trail (1.8 miles) which passes through State Park lands. This section will eventually join with a section of the Deschutes River Trail being planned by the Bend Parks & Recreation District. Prior to this trail project a trail extended south until it was block by a massive talus deposit of giant boulders up to 25 feet in diameter from an ancient collapse of the canyon rim. The State Park built this 300-foot long boardwalk to cross over the talus deposit.
Approximate boardwalk length (feet): 300 feet

What is the boardwalk over?:
Massive talus deposit

Boardwalk material: Composite plastic grating on steel framework.
