This metal sign is located at the ruins of the fireplace at Grinder's House, the only thing left of this wooden inn on the Old Natchez Trace.

The sign reads as follows:

"GRINDER HOUSE

Site and ruins of the Grinder House, in which Meriwether Lewis met his death on the night of Oct 11, 1809."
