This pillar is situated on arable land on the 164 metre summit area of an unnamed hill on maps, although sometimes referred to as Kinnettles Hill or Brigton Hill. It lies on the southern edge of Strathmore, south-west of Forfar in a triangular area of rural country between the A94 and B9127 roads, and the A90 dual-carriageway. A minor road runs from north to south just to the east within a few hundred yards of the summit. The pillar sits on the edge of a field next to a covered reservoir with a telecommunications antenna also close by on a fairly level summit.

STEEPNESS: Hardly any difficulties if approaching from the nearest access from the east.

TERRAIN: A faint track runs up the side of the field from the road to the antenna. It can be muddy when wet.

ACCESSIBILITY: The narrow minor road, known locally as the Whirlies Road, connects the A94 and the B9127. It crosses the east of the hill and provides a short route to the summit. Parking can be difficult however.

NAVIGATION: The antenna marks the general direction of the summit. The pillar however can be difficult to locate, lying on the edge of a ramshackle wall and barbed-wire fence beyond (west) of the antenna and reservoir. It lies amidst the undergrowth on the north side of the fence. The flushbracket faces north and can be obscured by foliage.

DANGER: Only the barbed-wire fence which must be negotiated.

Type of Trigpoint: Triangulation Pillar

Number on Flush Bracket: S7124
