This is a one-story brick depot built in 1912, which replaced an earlier frame depot built in 1902. In the early years of the 20th Century, this was the main avenue of travel to and from Idabel and was an important part of their local community. Four passenger trains came through Idabel each day, as well as many freight trains. The St. Louis and San Francisco Railway Co. was so valued that the town was named after a railroad official's two daughters - Ida and Belle.

The depot is 24 feet wide and 102 feet long. There is a hipped roof which originally was covered with terra cotta tile, but today has a red metal sided covering. The dark red brick is divided by a white belt course running just beneath the windows, which are six-over-one double hung. Along the length of both sides, wide eaves overhang the walkways by eight feet.

The depot was placed on the National Register in 1979 and is currently occupied by the Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture.
