This map is attached to a pole in the public car park off Newhalls Road, east of the centre of Queensferry, or South Queensferry on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth, north-west of the city of Edinburgh.
The map is elongated and takes in the entire town as it lies on the shore between the road and rail bridges. Unlike most maps of this genre, this one is orientated at ninety degrees with the west at the top and the east at the bottom. Information is also given on attractions in the town.
The car park is mainly used for sightseers to the Forth Bridge, the iconic railway bridge which is only a hundred yards or so to the east. The sign can be found next to a memorial to those who lost their lives in the construction of the bridge.
