The Orange River only flows about 4 miles from Buckingham area until it reaches the Caloosahatchee River. The Caloosahatchee flows west out of Lake Okeechobee. On the northwest corner of Orange Harbor Resort, there is a small "park" on the river bank where you can see the confluence. There is a small walkway over the bank. Sign advise against swimming, in case of alligators. Manatees can be seen, if conditions are right. No parking available. Not posted as "No Fishing", but I saw no indications that anyone fishes here.
The resort is a wonderfully clean, well kept resort. It looks like many of the mobile homes have been there for quite some time, but almost all are in excellent shape (I did see one which had a collapsed roof. A cat 5 hurricane coming thru the area a month before could be a contributing factor.)
