This cemetery serves the community of Florence, population 39 at the 2010 census. The community was platted in 1888 and named for Florence Sherman, a daughter of one of the first settlers.
Its post office has been in operation since 1889.
The cemetery itself is well maintained and fenced on four sides. Majestic evergreen street line the east side and there are some on the north and south sides.
