Located in Crown Hill Cemetery southwest of Broken Bow, there is an area set apart to memorialize Dalton Compton "Comp", who always wore the number "4". He was an avid and successful baseball player, and reading his obituary, was a fine young man.

The granite monument reads: "Dalton Clint Compton / Aug. 3, 1996 - June 27, 2015 / Comp #4 / The first thing I remember is the game that I loved. Life's a fast ball, belt high, coming right down the middle. Don't stand there and let it go by, swing hard and aim for the stands. And thank God for your fans, family, and friends. I am surrounded by the arms of the Father. I am surrounded by the songs of deliverance. I am no longer a slave to fear. I am a child of God. / Our hero and the love of our lives."

Standing on the monument is a bronze sculpture of a young man just after a full swing at the ball. Beneath the sculpture, in bronze, is a quote often spoken by Dalton Compton - "You know what we get to do today coach? Play baseball."
