This large item, a pencil, was once the world's longest pencil but no longer holds that title. It is located on W Main St in Casey, IL between the world's largest mailbox and the World's largest rocking chair.
The world record for a pencil is over 1,500 feet long, but isn't made of solid wood. The largest "real" pencil is located at City Museum in nearby St Louis at 76 feet long. This pencil in Casey is 36 1/2 feet long and over 500 pounds heavy.
It may not be the world's largest, but it is very impressive anyways!
