There is no web site for this elevator, and manta has the company as being formed in 1951. But if you notice from the historical facts below, Rootes began this elevator in 1918, and still carries his name. It probably changes owners in 1951, but the Rootes name remains.
It is obvious, this was built to accommodate the railroad coming to town and facilitate easier shipping for the farmers via rail. The railroad no longer services this town...but a bunch of trucks do.
